Day 1: An Introduction to Bank Analysis (14th December - 12-6pm UTC)

Bank Accounting – Financial Analysis
With a specific focus on a real set of financial statements, take a deep dive into the income statement and balance sheet, analyzing each line item and building a comprehensive suite of KPIs to assess the bank’s financial position and performance.

Bank Regulation
Learn the key objectives and tools used to regulate banks. Calculate the statistics that underpin Basel I, II and III. Discover how banks have been regulated historically and its impact on the industry today.

Day 2: Bank Modeling and Valuation (15th December - 12-6pm UTC)

Modeling a Bank
Learn the fundamentals of how to forecast and model a bank’s financial statements.

Banking Valuation – Multiples and ROE Regression
Build a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between bank performance and valuation.

Banking Valuation – Dividend Discount Model
Learn how to take an existing forecast and add a dividend discount model onto the integrated model.

Day 3: An Introduction to Insurance Analysis (16th December - 12-6pm UTC)

Financial Statement Fundamentals
Learn the key principles and methods used in insurance accounting.

Uncover the regulatory landscape, Solvency II, own funds, capital requirements and solvency ratio.

Life Insurance Analysis
Understand profit drivers in life insurance, analyzing profitability and capital and review new business metrics.

P&C Analysis
Discover how insurance companies are profitable, claims or loss reserves, unearned premium reserves, deferred acquisition costs and more.

Day 4: Insurance Modeling and Valuation (17th December - 12-6pm UTC)

Gain a comprehensive understanding of how to model and value life insurance and P&C insurance businesses. Participants will review real life case study examples to demonstrate the key steps used to build insurance company models and the main techniques used when valuing them.
