Day 1: An Introduction to Insurance Analysis (16th December - 12-6pm UTC)

Financial Statement Fundamentals
Learn the key principles and methods used in insurance accounting.

Regulation
Uncover the regulatory landscape, Solvency II, own funds, capital requirements and solvency ratio.

Life Insurance Analysis
Understand profit drivers in life insurance, analyzing profitability and capital and review new business metrics.

P&C Analysis
Discover how insurance companies are profitable, claims or loss reserves, unearned premium reserves, deferred acquisition costs and more.

Day 2: Insurance Modeling and Valuation (17th December - 12-6pm UTC)

Gain a comprehensive understanding of how to model and value life insurance and P&C insurance businesses. Participants will review real life case study examples to demonstrate the key steps used to build insurance company models and the main techniques used when valuing them.

P&C Modeling
Covering: income statements (with claims and expenses and the combined ratio, and underwriting profit), claims reserves and their payout triangles, unearned premium reserves, deferred acquisition costs and more.

Life Insurance Modeling
Covering: the key steps and flow used in building a life insurance model, forecasting key balance sheet line items, dealing with the effects of reinsurance and more.

Post-Class
