Corporate Training
AI Training for Finance Professionals
A global recruitment and advisory firm identified a growing need to upskill its finance professionals in the practical application of AI across core analytical and operational workflows.
As AI tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot became increasingly accessible, the challenge shifted from awareness to effective, controlled use within existing finance processes. Financial Edge was engaged to design and deliver a structured training programme that would help participants move beyond ad hoc experimentation and embed AI into day-to-day finance work in a practical, repeatable, and transparent way.
The Challenges
Inconsistency
Early AI experimentation tended to be ad hoc, creating variability in outputs and raising concerns around transparency, repeatability, and professional judgment.
Application
The client wanted participants to improve efficiency and analytical quality while maintaining clear, reviewable workflows that could be governed and refreshed over time.
The Solution
Comprehensive
Delivered live over a three-month period, the programme was structured to move participants from foundational AI prompting skills through to more advanced, workflow level applications within familiar tools such as Excel
Practical Skills
The course combined conceptual frameworks with hands-on application, enabling participants to understand not just how AI tools work, but how they can be embedded into existing finance processes in a controlled, transparent, and
repeatable way.
Each session addressed a specific use case — from structuring and classifying financial data, through performance and variance analysis, to reconciliation and workflow automation — ensuring learning was directly relevant to day-to-day finance activity.
The Impact
Future Capability
By adopting a modular, progressive design, the programme allowed participants to apply techniques between sessions, building confidence and capability over time. Throughout, emphasis was placed on maintaining professional judgment, governance, and reviewability, equipping attendees with the skills to use AI effectively while preserving the rigor expected in finance environments.
