December 3, 2025
Download our free Sensitivity Analysis Template that includes pre-built sensitivity tables that help test how changes in key assumptions affect your results. Alongside valuation outputs, the template also allows you to analyse how metrics such as the internal rate of return (IRR) respond when input assumptions move. It focuses on the drivers that typically have the greatest impact, such as entry premium, exit year and exit

What is Sensitivity Analysis?
Sensitivity analysis is a powerful way to test the stability of your valuation. Rather than relying on a single forecast, it allows you to measure how much your results shift when key assumptions move. By adjusting inputs such as the discount rate or long-term growth expectations, you can see the range of potential outcomes and identify which assumptions have the greatest influence on the final valuation.
Steps for Using the Sensitivity Analysis Template
With clear formatting and editable inputs, you can quickly see how your valuation and returns shift across a range of scenarios, allowing you to present a more transparent and informed analysis.
- Download the template and replace the sample inputs with your own valuation assumptions in the designated blue cells.
- Adjust the ranges for the discount rate or terminal value as needed by inserting or deleting rows or columns.
- Make sure the formulas in the black cells continue to reference your updated inputs. Once complete, you’ll have a fully customised sensitivity table that reflects how your valuation responds to changes in key assumptions.
