As part of our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, we partnered with 10,000 Black Interns, now known as The 10,000 Interns Foundation in 2021. This initiative aims to transform prospects of young black students and graduates in the UK by providing paid internship experience across banking, finance, and a broad range of industry sectors. 

The 10,000 Interns Foundation was developed in early 2020 to address the lack of diversity within the UK’s investment management industry, particularly in their leadership positions. Now by the end of Summer 2023, they would have created almost 5,000 internships in just 3 years and provided training opportunities to over 25,000 applicants. 

Each year, we offer our world-class training and resources to prepare their candidates for their summer internships and equip them with the industry knowledge and technical skills needed to help them succeed and convert their internships into full-time offers. 

Banking & Finance Speaker Session 

Part of the training we offer includes a Banking and Finance Speaker Session, delivered through a 1-hour interactive webinar led by one of our expert Wall Street instructors. 2023’s session was designed to give students a strong foundational knowledge of the main financial services sectors and their roles and career pathways. The topics covered include:  

  • Introduction to and overview of different financial institutions (who are their customers, what are their services and products, what functions exist within the institution)  
    • Commercial Banks  
    • Investment Banks  
    • Retail Banks  
  • Insurance and Re-insurance  
  • Investment Management / Investment Companies  
  • Real Estate  
  • Corporates  
  • Public Sector  
  • Views shared on career opportunities, growth areas, etc 

Continuous Learning and Development 

All attendees from our speaker session were given free access to additional learning materials covering business fundamentals in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and more. This included The Business Toolkit micro-degree and access to our Felix platform which has over 2,700 instructor-led training videos, a comprehensive company analytics tool designed to streamline financial modeling and analysis, and more.
